Rocket Festival 2008 - Andalucia, Spain
Rocket Festival is the first of the summer season, and what a great way to kick off Loco2's new website. Set in sunny Spain, this eclectic alternative to mainstream offerings is a colourful blend of dirty beats and Hispanic treats. Headliners include Coldcut, Pendulum and Evil Nine. Prepare for lift off!

Exit Festival 2008 - Novi Sad, Serbia
Named Best Festival on the Continent by the UK Festival Awards 2007, Exit is like no other. Set in a fortress in Serbia's second city, the line-up is eclectic and the atmosphere unique. Travelling by train holds all sorts of adventurous possibilities in store... time to head East!

Roskilde Festival 2008 - Roskilde, Denmark
Roskilde ranks up with Glastonbury as one of Europe's biggest festivals. If you're daring enough you can start the festival with the famous naked race and try to win your ticket into this eclectic extravaganza. All the profits from the event are donated to charity. Excellent.

Sonar is an annual festival of progressive music and multimedia arts. That's code for extra-special cool. Getting the train doen is easy - plenty of opportunity to stop off in Paris and have a refreshingly low carbon early summer break...

Rototom Sunsplash 2008 - Osoppo, Italy
Rototom Sunsplash is a celebration of reggae and sun. At a mammouth ten days, it's more of a music-packed holiday than a festival. We recommend combining it with a visit to the lovely nearby city of Ljubliana.

The charismatic younger sister of Oxegen, Electric Picnic is fast becoming renound as having one of the best atmospheres in Europe. A cheap rail and ferry combo makes getting there without flying an affordable option.
